The LEGO® Technic 42172 McLaren P1™ celebrates one of the three holy-trinity hypercars of the 2010s: 3,893 pieces in 1:8 scale, a 4-cylinder V8-style engine animation, working steering, dihedral doors that open like the real thing and the unmistakable carbon-monocoque silhouette of Woking’s flagship — the very car that anticipated the modern era of hybrid performance.
The “Pur Gris” edition is our most refined finish: a deep, monochromatic grey background that suppresses visual noise and lets the LEGO® 42172 McLaren P1™ command full attention. It is the choice of collectors who want a sober, contemporary statement piece, equally at ease in a minimalist study or a high-design living room.
Behind the look sits the engineering. Every HUYL is built around a 5 mm Plexiglass panel — more transparent than glass and roughly 250 times tougher — paired with a solid spruce wood frame that doubles as the wall mount. The set hangs from genuine LEGO® Technic anchors (not generic hardware-store hooks), which protect the model and, on many references, allow the McLaren P1™ to be displayed horizontally as well as vertically thanks to two attachment points. On Technic flagships, dedicated aluminium bars carry the load with full discretion.
More than a display, it is a piece of home decor. Where a traditional glass case is bulky, expensive and requires dedicated shelves or furniture, the HUYL frees up surfaces and dresses the wall instead.
